So some of you may have heard that Randy Orton has discontinued the rest of his run with the WWE's European tour, and even missed the 04-23 RAW show. I'm finding lots of news about that, here are some of them.
From Wrestlemag.Com:
As reported last night, both Randy Orton and Ric Flair missed last night’s RAW brand house show Munich, Germany. The word today was that Orton had picked up some kind of stomach bug on the tour..."As reported yesterday both Ric Flair and Randy Orton didn’t appear an the RAW houseshow in Munich, Germany. Our friends of Power-Wrestling.de are reporting that Randy Orton felt sick and had problems with his stomich [sic] through the entire day. So he was unaible to perform last night.[/b] Same goes for Ric Flair. The 16 time world heavyweight champion injured his angle on a show in Italy. We do not have an update if its a serious injury or if he just wrenched or sprained his angle[/i] [sic].
Amusing piece from 411mania.com:
Randy "Dorkboy" Orton, has been sent home from WWE's European tour in a disciplinary action, essentially one year and one week after the last time he was suspended for out-of-ring problems. In fact, in honour of this developing tradition, I declare the second Monday after WrestleMania, from the year hence, shall be declared "Dorkboy Day", where we will all gather to remember the many times that Randy Orton has derailed his seemingly un-derailable push to the top of WWE due to stupid actions on his part.
Early but unconfirmed reports have something to do with Orton trashing a hotel room as the reason for his suspension, though you have to believe there was a little more than just that behind it. No word on how this affects Orton's presence in the title match at Backlash, or how harsh his punishment may end up being, but for now, I'm all tingly again, so I'm going to need a second.
This one is from Wrestling-News.Com:
Dave Meltzer over at the Wrestling Observer website reports that WWE has sent home Randy Orton from the European tour. And with WWE taping Raw overseas this Monday, he obviously won't be appearing.
All that is known at this time, is that Orton was accused of badly trashing a hotel room overseas. It's bad enough to do that within the states. But overseas, the issue could be handled quite differently. Personally, unless the hotel agreed to not pursue a complaint with their law enforcement, WWE sent him home to avoid further issue.
(I've been warned against Dave Meltzer articles, but everybody's reporting the same thing, so I'm letting this one go.)
And finally from 24Wrestling.Com and PWInsider.Com:
With regard to the Randy Orton situation, there have been lots of rumors swirlling around, and none of them good for Orton.
Although not confirmed, there is talk that Orton may even be pulled from Backlash this Sunday where he is scheduled to compete in a Fatal Four Way along with John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Edge.
A few people have noticed that commercials airing to advertise the main-event at Backlash have not included Orton, however given WWE's history of advertising screw ups, this could just be a simple mistake.
And so there are our answers. Who knows what's going to happen next, I don't. I'm hoping it doesn't end up too bad, but if he's being suspended again, I bet it's going to happen that he'll still show up at Backlash, and then they'll "injure" him badly again on the following RAW. Then somehow, he'll end up back on Smackdown! (but I would really rather prefer he stayed on RAW). Oh well.
