Okay, Lockdown was on Sunday, April 15. It came to us live from St. Louis, MI (home of Randy Orton). I'm still not sure whether or not I liked the pay-per-view. I got it because I wanted to see Mr. Chris Harris. He's been out of commission lately thanks to former tag partner James Storm.
Anyway, I digress. Onto the matches. Oh, one other thing. All the matches take place in the six sides of steel. That's right, they're all cage matches.
The pre-show match pitted Seratonin against VKM. Okay, we all know the drill here. VKM wins, makes Christy look stupid. Christy gets up in Raven's face and almost gets caned for her efforts. Kaz steps in the way. He gets caned instead. What do they say about dancing with devil? You're gonna get burned. Christy almost did.
[glow=red,2,300]X-DIVISION ESCAPE MATCH[/glow] 5 members of the X division competed including the champ. It was, in order of entrance, Jay Lethal aka Blach Machismo, Shark Boy, Alex Shelley, Sonjay Dutt and Chris Sabin. The rules are simple. The first three eliminations are by pinfall or submission. When its down to the final two the only way to win the match is to escape the cage. The first contestant eliminated was Shark Boy. Second one was Sonjay Dutt. Third was Alex Shelley. That was a shame. He was working quite well with Chris Sabin in double teaming the others. I wonder if they had something worked out so they'd be the last two left. So it came down to Jay Lethal and Chris Sabin. It looked like it was going to be close until Jay got his foot caught in the cage. So your winner and still X-Divison champion, Chris Sabin.
[glow=red,2,300]Robert Roode vs. Petey Williams[/glow]
This was a strange match. Robert Roode is under the impression that Petey is Eric Young's friend he keeps talking about. He decided he was going to teach Petey a lesson. However it looked like the lesson was going to be on him. It was especially funny when Traci Brooks got the hockey stick out from under the ring. She went to give it to Roode, but Eric took it from her and gave it to Petey. Petey got in a couple of good shots but the ref finally took it away. Anyway, Robert Roode won.
[glow=red,2,300]Six Sides of Steel Catfight[/glow] To me this is the match that made the show. It was 'The Pride of Tennessee, Ms. Jackie Moore vs. Gail Kim. Damn, those women can throw down. They started the match outside the ring. Gail didn't waste any time and came right out of the cage after Jackie. She threw her down the ramp. Jackie threw Gail onto the announce table, right on to Mike Tenay. You couldn't predict what either lady was going to do. It was a real physical match. These ladies really don't like each other. Missle dropkick off the top rope on Jackie by Gail. Gail had the chance to escape the cage, but instead she slammed the cage door and climbed the cage to the top. Gail used a flying body press from the top of the cage to pin Jackie. All I can say was this match was unreal.
Austin Starr vs Senshi with Bob Backland as special referee. This is a match they could have skipped. I swear Austin must have thought that Backland was out to keep him from winning the match. He kept complaining about a slow count, but Senshi didn't get any faster of a count. Anyways, Senshi won.
The Blindfold Match[glow=red,2,300]The Tennessee Cowboy James Storm vs. The Wildcat Chris Harris. [/glow] Sigh. I never wanted to see it end like this. To make it a level playing ground, both are wearing hoods, so neither can see where the other is. It was a lot of near misses. Chris finally decided to use the crowd to tell him where James was. Chris wound up grabbing the ref. Ref got out of the way. While the ref was distracted James took off the hood and superkicked Harris. He then put the hood back on and covered Harris. The funny thing was when he walked up the ramp, it seemed to me that James Storm didn't look too happy.
THE WRATH OF X.... Jerry Lynn vs. The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. The main question is what the hell is going on with Daniels? It seems there is a vicious streak in Chris Daniels that nobody knew about. The crowd had no clue how to react to the new Fallen Angel. Jerry Lynn used every move he had but he still couldn't pin Christopher Daniels. Last Rites by Daniels on Lynn. Victory to the Fallen Angel.
[glow=red,2,300]Electrified Cage Match[/glow] LAX vs. Team 3D. It's the World Tag-Team Titles against 3-D's legacy. It was brutal. It was shocking. Hector Guerrero(forgive me if I've spelt it wrong) stood up to the Latino Nation and Konnan. It was a sight to see. The result was new World Tag Team Champions and the only title that had eluded Team 3D was now theirs.
[glow=red,2,300]Lethal Lockdown[/glow] The battle lines have been drawn. The teams assembled. Now all that's left is the fight of the night. Team Cage vs. Team Angle. Two wrestlers start and fight for five minutes then every two minutes another one enters the cage until all 10 men are inside. Then the steel cage top is lowered and Lethal Lockdown is really underway. the first two contenders are AJ Styles and Kurt Angle. Abyss enters at the 7 minute mark. Rhino enters at the 9 minute mark. Tomko. Samoa Joe. Scott Steiner. Sting. Christian Cage. And finally Jeff Jarrett. The cage top is lowered. Jeff goes right after the attached wepons. He grabs the baseball bat and throws it to Sting. It really looks like he's trying to be a team player. Is this the same Jeff Jarrett that wouldn't let anybody or anything stand in the way of him having the world title? Scott Steiner pulled something I haven't seen in sometime and to quote Mike Tenay, "I'm gonna call it the Frankensteiner because the huracanrana doesn't do it justice." It was awesome, especially since he's a lot bigger now than he was the last time I saw him use it. It was total mayhem. Abyss had two bags of tacks. AJ and Kurt wound up on top of the cage. There was a pyramid and AJ got the worst of that. Harley Race took out James Mitchell. Abyss took one of the bags of tacks and put them in Jeff's guitar. He then told Jeff to hit Sting with it. Instead, Jeff told Sting to move out of the way and he nailed Abyss with it. He then told Sting to cover Abyss. So at Sacrifice, Sting has the title shot against Christian Cage.
